9/11 Topic: Pop Culture

Hello, everyone!

So this week's topic is pop culture.  We will exchange our ideas and opinions about Western and Japanese pop culture.  :) We can talk about anything, from music to movies to drama/theatre, etc.

Please be prepared to answer the following questions: What kind of music and movies do you like?  What do you think about pop culture in Japan?  How has it changed?  What do you know about Western pop culture?

If you can, please also bring something to "show and tell."  "Show and tell" means you bring an object and introduce it to the class.  It is similar to what we did last week with the books and novels we brought.  Anything is fine!  A CD, a DVD, etc.  If you don't have anything to bring, don't worry about it!  Just be prepared to talk about pop culture and share your opinions. :)

Reminder: I will (hopefully) give you the recommended reading list this week in class.  Also, I decided not to split the class into two groups because not everybody comes consistently.  Instead, I will bring grammar and vocabulary sheets for those who are interested in using them.

みなさん、こんにちは！

今週のトピックはポップカルチャーです。西洋のポップカルチャーと日本のポップカルチャーに対する意見や考えを交流しましょう。:) 話の中心は音楽、映画、番組、演劇などです。

どんな音楽と映画が好きですか。日本のポップカルチャーはどう思いますか。そして、どうやって変化しましたか。西洋のポップカルチャーについては何を知っていますか。こういう質問を答えてみてください。

また、「Show and Tell」をしたいと思います。みなさん、何かを持ってきてください。「Show and Tell」というのは、授業で持ってきたものを少し紹介することです。先週したのと同じです。CDやDVDなど、何でも持ってきてもいいです。そして何も持って来なくても大丈夫です。ただ考えてほしいだけなのですから。:)

お知らせ：今週のクラスに「推薦図書」のリストを持ってきてあげようと思っています。そして、皆は毎週英会話に来ないかもしれないので、クラスを２つのグループに分けないことに決めた。だが、文法と単語に興味を持つ人のために、文法と単語のリストを作って持って来ようとする。
