Summer Vacation and Survey! 夏休みとアンケート！

Hey, guys!

I hope you all have a great summer vacation.  (I know many of you will still be working, but please try to relax and enjoy your summer!) ^_^

Just a reminder, there are no more classes until August 20.  In other words, no class on July 30, August 6, and August 13.  The next class will be August 20, so please enjoy your one-month break from English!

Also, if you have time, can you please fill out a survey for me?  It's a very short survey and should only take about five minutes.  Here is the survey.  Thank you!

7/23 Topic and Summer Vacation Schedule ７月２３日のトピックと夏休みのスケジュール

Hello, everyone!

This week will be the last class before summer vacation.  It is also one year since I came to Japan!  Therefore, I'd like to have a very relaxed, fun class tomorrow.  You do not have to prepare anything, but please feel free to bring food and drinks!

Let's talk about summer vacation and our plans, and reflect on this past year of English Conversation Class.  Is there anything you want to study more in class?  Do you like talking about different topics each week?  What would you change?

I will be distributing a short survey to everyone, so please bring a pen or pencil to fill it out.

Topic for This Week ７月１６日のトピック

Hi there!

Thank you for last week's discussion about bugs.  The pictures were very creepy, but I hope you had fun. :)

This week I would like to talk about dreams (夢).  First, what are "dreams"?  This word has two meanings: wishes/hopes, and images you see when you sleep.  We will be focusing on the second definition.  When you sleep, do you usually dream?  Do you sometimes have nightmares (悪夢)?  What is a favorite dream you've had?  Do you think dreams can predict the future (未来を占う)?

I'm excited to see everyone tomorrow. :) Let me know if you have any questions or concerns!

Topic for This Week ７月９日のトピック

Hey, guys!

The weather has been hot lately, hasn't it?  Because it is summer, I have begun to see many bugs and spiders.  Yesterday when I returned home after work, I realized a Japanese hornet (suzumebachi スズメバチ) had gotten into my house!  I was so scared!  Have you ever had a hornet in your house?

Because of this incident, this week I'd like to talk about bugs!  What kinds of bugs have you seen?  What are the most dangerous bugs in the world?  Have you ever been stung by a bee?  I also want to discuss the differences in bugs in various cultures/countries.

最近天気が暑くなってきましたね。夏だから、虫や蜘蛛をたくさん見始めています。昨日、仕事が終わって帰ったら、スズメバチが家に入ってきたのに気が付きました！とても驚きました！あなたの家にスズメバチが入ってきたことがありますか？

この事件があったので、今週虫について話したいと思います！どんな虫を見たことがありますか？世界でどんな虫が一番危ないでしょうか？蜂に刺されたことがありますか？国や文化により虫の違いも話したいと思います。

Announcement About Summer Vacation 夏休みについて

Hi guys!

So summer vacation is coming up in a few weeks, and I just wanted everyone to know what the schedule will be.

We will continue having class every Wednesday until July 23 (last class).  There will be no class from July 30 to August 13.  In other words, after July 23 the next class will be August 20.

I will post another reminder about the cancellations right before summer vacation.

夏休はあと数週間なので、みんなにスケジュールを伝えたいと思います。

授業は７月２３日まで（ラスト）いつもどおり行います。７月３０日から８月１３日まで授業が中止になります。つまり、７月２３日の次の授業は８月２０日となります。
