I hope you enjoyed your Valentine's Day weekend. Did you get a chance to go to the Sapporo Snow Festival? This year was my second time going. :)
This week our topic is manners and rudeness. Do you know what's rude in American culture? Japanese culture? What kinds of things are rude to say to someone? Have you ever been offended by someone's rude comments?
We will discuss manners in different cultures as well as our own personal experiences and opinions.

We will not have class next week (2/11) due to the holiday. Please enjoy your break. The next class after tomorrow will be on 2/18. Please don't forget!
However, we will still have class tomorrow, so I think we should do an early Valentine's Day party. Tomorrow's topic will be Valentine's Day and love. What kinds of things do you love? What makes you happy? At what age can a person truly fall in love?
You may bring Valentine's Day snacks if you like.

1/14 Topic: Conversational Words 会話の単語
Hello, everyone! And a belated Happy New Year to you!
It's been a while, hasn't it? I hope you all had a wonderful New Year with your families. :) Did you eat traditional New Year's food?
January 14 will be our first class of the year, so please come. Next week's topic is conversational words. People studying English want to learn how to speak it fluently. But how can you do it? The answer lies in conversational words and phrases. There are many useful English words and phrases you should remember. For example, what does "What's new?" mean? When do you say "well"? Some of the words will be review (we did a casual speech lesson last year), but most will be new. In addition, we will study these words more in depth. To raise your conversational abilities, we will practice many times.
If you have any questions about a specific English phrase or word, please bring it to class so we can discuss it together.

さて、１月１４日は今年の最初の英会話クラスとなります。ぜひ来てください！トピックは会話の単語になります。英語を勉強している人は、英語を流暢に言えたいな、とよく言いますが、どうやって英語をスムーズに話せるようになりますか？その答えは会話の単語です。覚えた方がいい役経つ英語の表現・単語はたくさんあります。例えば、「What's new?」はどういう意味でしょうか？「well」はどんなとき使いますか？いくつかの会話の単語は復習になるかもしれませんが（昨年もカジュアル英語のレッスンを行いました）、ほとんどの単語はみなさんにとって新しいと思います。また、こういう会話の単語をもっと深く学び、そしてみなさんの会話の能力を上げるために何回も練習します。
特定の表現・単語についての質問のある方は、その表現・単語をクラスに持ってきて、一緒に話し合います。
